Background:
Executed a media and community relations campaign to generate interest in receiving flu shots, maximize media coverage, and build relationships with the African American and Latino communities in Los Angeles. Through successful partnerships with Radio Free 102.3 KJLH, the National Association of Latino Elected Officials and the Second District County Supervisor of Los Angeles, Mark Ridley Thomas, successfully increased knowledge of Albertsons Sav-On Pharmacies seasonal flu shot services. The campaign specifically targeted high-density African American and Hispanic neighborhoods in Los Angeles County and encouraged locals to receive flu shots at their local Albertsons Sav-On Pharmacy.

Results:

  • Secured 12 print, online and broadcast media placements with gross media impressions totaling 4,549,325
  • Conducted five seasonal flu shot clinics, that resulted in 341 seasonal flu shots valued at $8,521.59
  • Developed collateral materials such as flyers for each flu clinic, i.e. flyers to distribute and an online advertisement to generate additional awareness
